Job Description
Allied Clinical Management is hiring an Occupational Health Physician or Preventive medicine specialist (internist/general practitioner) at full-time or part-time through an 18-month temporary to permanent contract to ensure and develop occupational health management at our client's facility in Berlin. You will support employees and managers in Berlin in maintaining their health and performance and work together as part of an interdisciplinary team of doctors, psychologists and social counselors. The position requires commitment to the prevention of work-related illnesses, the enhancement of the health potential of employees and thus the improvement of the well-being and performance of the company's workforce in a sustainable manner. As an Occupational Health Physician or Preventive medicine specialist, you will be responsible for advising and supporting managers and employees in all matters relating to health protection and prevention within the framework of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA). This includes actively contributing to and participating in meetings of the management team, regular inspections and the provision of internal training or instruction on occupational health-related topics to the management and the workforce of the company.
In addition, you will conduct consultations and participate in health-related discussions and support the implementation of prevention strategies as part of occupational health management in the workplace. You will be required to independently perform medical tasks in acute consultations, including emergency medicine, as the situation arises. The position will require interdisciplinary co-operation with several other departments, such as the Social Counselling Service, the Human Resources Department and the Employee Counselling Service. The ideal candidate will also be able to liaise with health insurance companies, general practitioners and specialists, clinics, rehabilitation centers and integration offices.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Occupational Medicine or additional qualification in Occupational Medicine or in further training or
- Preventive medicine specialist (internist/general practitioner)
- Experience as an internist or emergency physician with an interest in gaining medical experience in a new specialist area
- Experience in emergency and travel medicine
- Consultative skills, empathy and a good understanding of interpersonal relations
- Excellent communication skills, ability to cooperate and independently make decisions
- Adept in the use of MS Office and (occupational) medical software
- Very good knowledge of German and English (C1-C2 level)
- A current valid work permit for Germany is required.
Additional Information:
Part-time candidates should be able to work at least 50%.
There exists an option of further training in occupational medicine at the client’s facility. Further training in occupational medicine can be obtained within 9 months for full-time positions. The period is extended accordingly for part-time positions.
There is the possibility for one day per week home-office, but only in consultation with the director responsible and only for the full-time position.
Working hours are 20 hours PT and 40 hours/week FT, starting usually from around 8 am until appx. 3:30 pm.
